Exploration of Song

The season ends with a collaboration between Melanie Woodruff, soprano and Jill Jantzen, piano. The duo will present an Exploration of Song, with works by Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, and Eric Whitacre. Each set colorfully portrays scenes of nature, introspection, youthfulness, and love.

Symphony Players Up Close

Fulbright scholar and singer, Simon Barrad, and award winning pianist, Kseniia Polstiankina, join forces to bring forth a musical treat that gives reference to the famous Madeleine cookie that triggers childhood memories in Proust's "In search of lost time." 

To the listener: stay alert for hidden musical nuggets. Or, at the very least, be prepared for a dog bark....

Join Salon 21 as Toronto-based pianist, Kara Huber brings us a rockin' good time with the funky styles of contemporary composer, David Rakowski. The night will be topped off by everyone's jam, 13 Preludes, Op. 32 by Rachmaninoff! Talk about raw emotions...

Hailed as "a young rising star...poised at the prelude to her career" by The Watch, American pianist Kara Huber has been acclaimed for her "mature vision" by The Washington Post during a performance at the Kennedy center for the Performing Arts.
